Back to Troy Softball - Troy Softball 2009 Season Troy Blasts Long Beach Poly Mellano, Cornejo & Applerose Homer in Route The second game of the day in the Savannah Tournament would be all Troy. Sara Fares, wanting the ball again, pitched the distance and picked up the victory while scattering five hits, striking out a season high eleven batters. Troy’s offense would give Troy’s fans something to watch and have fun in the late night game. Sam Mellano would hit a smash hit, through gap in right center that nearly rolled to the 91 freeway in second inning. AD Cornejo would connect a solid drive through the left center gap for a two run homer. Dani Applerose would smash a centerfield shot for a two run homer in the sixth. Troy would route Long Beach Poly 10-2 in the night cap. Bennett would go 2-4 and two runs scored. Applerose added a single with two runs scored. Mellano hit a double and CJ Taitano tripled in the forth.
